Baked French Toast

Ingredients
  Skim milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Ground nutmeg 1 Pinch
  Egg whites 4
  Non fat whole grain bread/Non fat french bread 4 (0.5 Inch Thick Slice)
  Vanilla extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

1.Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
2.Combine milk, egg whites, vanilla, and nutmeg in a shallow bowl.
3.Dip the bread in the milk mixture, coating both sides.
4.Spray a baking sheet with vegetable cooking spray or line with a nonstick baking liner. Arrange bread on baking sheet in a single layer.
5.Bake for 6 minutes or until French toast is lightly browned.
Turn bread over and bake for 5 more minutes or until lightly browned.
Variations-Coat the bread with the milk-egg mixture and cook in a nonstick skillet over medium heat, turning once, until both sides are lightly browned.
Top with fresh fruit and yogurt.
Mix 6 juice-packed canned peaches with 1 teaspoon firmly packed brown sugar, 3 cups plain nonfat yogurt, and 2 tablespoons maple syrup.
Spoon over French toast.
