|Chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||3 Tablespoon, melted|
|All purpose flour||2 Tablespoon|
|Canned minced clams||19 1⁄2 Ounce, undrained (3 cans, 6 1/2 ounce each)|
|Clam juice||8 Ounce (1 bottle)|
|Evaporated milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Tomato juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
Saute onion in butter in a heavy saucepan.
Add flour, stirring until smooth.
Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Add clam juice, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is bubbly.
Reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Stir in milk and tomato juice, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is heated.
Remove from heat; stir in lemon juice.
Garnish servings with parsley, if desired
