French Peas

Ingredients
  Lettuce leaves 6 Large
  Fresh peas 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter 2 Tablespoon (or margarine)
Directions

Line bottom and sides of saucepan with lettuce; reserve 1 leaf for the top.
Place peas and remaining ingredients in lettuce-lined pan.
Top with remaining lettuce leaf.
Cover tightly and simmer over low heat 10 to 15 minutes or until peas are tender.
Remove lettuce leaves before serving.
TIP:
Frozen peas may be used.
Follow directions above; simmer over low heat 20 to 25 minutes.
Vegetables on a stick — barbecued to a turn in just 5 minutes.
