French Beans With Baby Marrows

Ingredients
  French beans 1 Pound, tender and young
  Baby marrows 2 Pound, baby sized
  Onions 2
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm)
  Mixed herbs 1 Bunch (100 gm)
  Parsley 1 Tablespoon
Directions

String the beans, and skin the baby marrow.
Slice the marrow into thin rounds, and arrange it in the bottom of a saucepan together with sliced onions and garlic, and the bunch of mixed herbs.
On top put the uncooked French beans.
Simmer over a very gentle heat for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, only in the natural moisture from the marrow and the onions.
Not a vitamin escapes when you use this recipe! Just before serving, add some chopped parsley, salt, pepper, a pinch of grated nutmeg, lemon juice and—if you like—a little butter.
Note: Lentil recipes require the brown continental variety, not the yellow English split lentil.
