Monte Cristo Au Gratin
|Turkey slice/Ham slices / 6 slice each||12|
|Eggs||3 , lightly beaten with 2 tablespoons water|
|Vegetable oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Grated process swiss cheese||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Mayonnaise||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Place meat between 2 slices of bread.
Dip sandwiches in egg mixture.
In a frying pan, heat oil and butter; fry both sides of sandwiches until golden brown.
Place in a baking dish.
In a saucepan, combine cheese, milk, mayonnaise and nutmeg.
Heat, stirring constantly, until cheese melts and mixture is smooth.
Pour over sandwiches and broil 3 to 5 minutes, 6 inches from broiler, until bubbly.
Makes 3 servings.
