Classic Croque Monsieur

|White bread slices||4 , trimmed of crusts and buttered on 1 side (Firm Textured, Thin Pieces)|
|Cheese||3 Ounce, coarsely grated (Three 1 Ounce Packages, Gruyere Or Swiss)|
|Boiled ham slices||2 , cut to fit bread (Thin Slices)|
|Eggs||2 , lightly beaten|
|Cold water||2 Tablespoon|
|Medium white sauce||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Hot)|
|Finely grated parmesan cheese||2 Tablespoon|
1) Between two bread slices, place the cheese and ham, then press lightly.
2) Dip in the beaten eggs , until well coated, and evenly brown on both sides in butter over a medium heat.
3) Serve in warm plates and spoon over the sauce.
