Cheesy French Toast
|Bread slice||6 (Not Fresh But Not Stale)|
|Eggs||6 Ounce (3 Large Ones)|
|Grated cheese||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (Cheddar, Swiss, Or Any Hard Cheese)|
|Butter||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Frying)|
It is important that the bread is not too soft or it won't hold the coating.
If it is very soft, stick it in the oven for about 10 minutes on low heat to dry it out, not toast it.
Put the eggs, cheese, and nutmeg in a blender and beat till the cheese is blended and the mixture well mixed and frothy.
Pour into a bowl and soak the bread in the mixture, at least 10 minutes on each side.
Heat a large skillet and add enough butter to cover the pan when melted.
When the butter gets foamy, take the bread out of the egg mixture, let the excess batter drain off, and put in the skillet.
Fry till brownish, then turn and fry the other side.
Take out of the pan immediately.
The toast should be slightly puffed up.
Serve with jam or syrup and crispy bacon.
