Basic White Or Bechamel Sauce
|Pepper white||1 Dash|
|Skim milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Melt margarine in top of double boiler over hot water.
Add flour, salt, and pepper, and cook over moderate heat about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Gradually add milk.
Cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
Keep warm in double boiler.
