Savory French Onion Soup

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  White onions 2 Large, thinly sliced
  Granulated sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Mushrooms 4 Ounce, cleaned and sliced (1/4 Pound)
  Beef broth 6 Cup (96 tbs)
  Worcestershire sauce 1 Teaspoon
  Savory seasonings garden blend 1 Tablespoon
  Ground black pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  French bread slice 8 , sliced 1/2 inch thick dried
  Swiss cheese slice 8 Small (Baby Slices)
Directions

Melt butter in large saucepan over medium high heat.
Add onions, sugar and mushrooms; saute until onions are transparent.
Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Garden Blend and pepper; stir.
Cover; cook until mixture comes to a boil.
Reduce heat to low.
Cover; simmer 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to broil.
Ladle soup into oven safe bowls.
Add one slice French bread to each bowl; top with slice 'of cheese.
Set bowls on rack under broiler until cheese bubbles and browns.
