Classic French Onion Soup with White Wine Flavoring

|Onions||4 , thinly sliced|
|Chicken stock||1 3⁄4 Pint (4 Cups, 1 Liter)|
|White wine||4 Fluid Ounce (1/2 Cup, 125 Milliliter)|
|French bread slice||8 , toasted|
|Grated gruyere cheese||60 Gram (2 Ounce)|
1. Melt butter in a large saucepan, add onions and cook over a low heat, stirring constantly, for 10-15 minutes or until onions are golden. Stir in flour and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes longer.
2. lncrease heat to medium, stir in stock and wine and bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
3. Top toasted bread with cheese and cook under a preheated grill for 2-3 minutes or until cheese melts. Place cheese toast in the base of a large soup tureen and pour over soup. Serve immediately.
