Baked Brie For A New Year's Appetizer
|Puffed pastry sheet||1|
|Toasted sliced almonds||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chopped fresh parsley||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Brie||1 Pound (1 Round One)|
Defrost pastry sheet completely. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Unfold the pastry sheet onto a flowered surface and roll it out until it’s about 14 inches square.
Sprinkle the center of the pastry sheet with almonds and parsley and then place the Brie on top.
Mix the egg and water together. Then brush the edges of the pastry sheet with the mixture. Bring all of the edges up to cover the cheese and press together, then trim off the extra puff pastry.
Flip the entire pastry upside down onto a greased baking sheet and you can decorate the top of the baked Brie with the scraps and then brush the entire thing with the remaining egg and water mixture. Or you can skip the decorating part and simply brush it with the egg and water mix.
Bake for about 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown, you don’t want it to burn. The let it stand for several minutes.
Serve with crackers.
