Golden French Toast

Ingredients
  Eggs 3
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Slightly dry white bread slices 10
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

1. Break eggs into a pie plate and beat slightly with a fork; stir in the sugar, salt and milk. (Sugar adds a faintly sweet touch and helps to brown the toast evenly and richly.)
2. Place bread slices, 1 at a time, in plate; let soak a moment, then turn with a fork and soak the other side well.
3. Transfer bread slices with a pancake turner to a heated griddle or skillet coated with a thin layer of butter or margarine. Heat slowly, just until bottom is golden, turn; brown other side. Serve hot with melted butter or margarine and maple syrup.
