Orangery French Toast
|Half and half||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Orange juice||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Grated orange peel||1 Tablespoon|
|Vegetable oil||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Orange juice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Grated orange peel||2 Tablespoon|
Beat together egg yolks, half and half, orange juice, orange peel, and salt. Dip bread slices in batter to coat both sides.
Heat oil in a skillet and when hot, add coated bread and cook on both sides until golden brown. Transfer to a warm serving platter.
In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, orange juice, and orange peel. Heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve over hot toast.
