Broccoli Au Gratin
|Fresh broccoli||1 1⁄2 Pound|
|Water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||2 Tablespoon|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||2 Tablespoon, melted|
|Fine dry bread crumbs||2 Tablespoon|
Wash and trim broccoli.
Place in large saucepan; add water and sugar.
Boil over high heat.
Reduce to medium heat and cook for 5-8 min Drain.
While broccoli is cooking, melt butter in saucepan.
Add flour and stir until smooth.
Add milk and bring to boil.
Cook until thick, about 2 min Add salt and nutmeg; set aside.
Arrange cooked broccoli in oven-proof dish and pour sauce over broccoli.
Combine melted butter and crumbs; sprinkle over broccoli.
Bake at 350° for 30 min.; or cover and store for cooking at a later date.
