French Fried Vegetables

Ingredients
  Mixed vegetables 1 Pound (Fresh)
  Plain flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Salt 1 Pinch
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Frying)
Directions

Cut the vegetables into bite-sized pieces and parboil or steam them until they are half-cooked.
Drain the vegetables, dry them on a tea towel and put to one side.
Measure the flour into a bowl.
Drop the egg into the centre of the flour and begin to stir them together.
Gradually add the milk to the egg and flour and stir constantly to make a smooth batter.
Dip the dry vegetable pieces into this batter, drop into very hot oil and fry until golden brown.
Drain the fried vegetables on a paper towel and serve immediately with a light sprinkling of salt.
