Golden Eggnog French Toast With Rum Spiced Apples

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon
  Eggnog 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Purchased)
  Sourdough loaf 1 Pound (1/2 Loaf)
  French bread 1 , cut into 8 slices (About 1/2 In. Thick)
  Rum spiced apples 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Melt half the butter in a 10 to 12-inch frying pan over medium heat.
Meanwhile, pour eggnog into an 8 to 9-inch-wide cake or pie pan.
Dip bread slices in eggnog to coat both sides (do not soak); drain briefly and lay bread in frying pan.
Cook about half of the slices at a time, turning as needed, until they are richly browned on both sides, 7 to 9 minutes total.
Repeat to cook the remaining slices.
Offer the rum-spiced apples to spoon onto individual portions.
