|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm)|
|Beef stock/Chicken stock / water and bouillon cubes||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Canned haricot beans||1 Medium|
Chop the bacon and fry lightly for a few minutes.
Lift out of the pan, add the fat to the bacon fat in the pan and heat.
Chop the onion, crush the garlic, if used.
Fry the onion and garlic until soft, but not brown.
Add the chopped or grated carrots and stock or water and bouillon cubes.
Simmer for 115 minutes, add beans and bacon.
