French Bread Chicken Melts
|Onion||1 , cut in half vertically and thinly sliced|
|Green bell pepper strips||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Refrigerated grilled flavored chicken breast strips||6 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Fat free honey dijon salad dressing||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Twin french bread loaves||8 Ounce (Half Of 16 Ounce Package)|
|Reduced fat processed mozzarella cheese slice||3 Ounce (4 Slices, 3/4 Ounce Each)|
1. Preheat broiler.
2. Coat a nonstick skillet with cooking spray, place over medium-high heat until hot. Add onion and bell pepper,- saute 8 minutes or until very tender, adding water, 1 tablespoon at a time, to prevent scorching. Remove from heat, stir in chicken and salad dressing. Set aside, and keep warm.
3. Split bread in half horizontally,- place bread halves on a baking sheet. Spoon chicken mixture onto bottom half of loaf, top with cheese slices.
4. Broil 1 1/2 minutes or until cheese melts and bread is lightly toasted. Place top half of loaf over cheese. Cut loaf diagonally into 4 equal portions.
