French Fried Spinach Balls
|Chopped cooked spinach||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Grated onion||2 Tablespoon|
|Grated cheese||2 Tablespoon|
|Eggs||2 (1 Beaten With Spinach, 1 Reserved)|
|Bread crumbs||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Bread crumbs||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)|
Combine chopped spinach, melted butter, salt, pepper, 1 well-beaten egg, bread crumbs, onion, cheese, and allspice and mix well.
Allow to stand 10 minutes, then make into balls.
Combine the other egg with the 1/2 cup water and beat until well blended.
Roll the spinach balls in bread crumbs, dip in egg mixture (from the extra egg); then again in bread crumbs.
Fry in hot deep fat until a golden brown.
Drain on absorbent paper.
