French Almond Meringues

Ingredients
  Chocolate morsels 6 Ounce (semisweet)
  Egg whites 3
  Vanilla extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Almonds 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), finely chopped (blanched)
Directions

Melt chocolate in a saucepan over hot, not boiling, water.
Remove from heat and cool for about 5 minutes.
Combine egg whites and vanilla extract; beat until stiff but not dry.
Gradually add sugar and beat until very stiff.
Fold in almonds and cooled melted chocolate.
Drop by teaspoonsful onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
