Lemony French Toast

Thick slices of Italian bread soaked in a lemon-lime egg mixture and fried until golden brown.
Ingredients
  Eggs 4
  Cream 2 Tablespoon
  Grated lemon rind 2 Tablespoon
  Lime rind 2 Tablespoon
  Black pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Italian bread loaf 1 , cut into 1 inch slices
  Butter 1 Tablespoon (For Cooking)
  Maple syrup 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)
  Bacon 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)
Directions

In medium bowl, whisk eggs. Stir in cream, pepper and grated rinds. Melt about 3 tablespoons butter in large skillet. Dip four bread slices into egg mixture and fry in hot butter until golden brown. Serve with a pat of butter on top of each, maple syrup and bacon.
