French Onion Bread

Ingredients
  Dried onion soup mix 2 Ounce (1 Package, Sufficient To Make 2 1/2 Cups Soup)
  Self rising flour/2 cups all-purpose flour sifted with 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Grated cheese 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Grease and line a small 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch loaf pan.
Gradually combine the soup mix with the milk.
Place the flour in a bowl and rub in the butter or margarine until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Stir in the soup mixture and the beaten egg and mix together to give a dropping consistency.
Turn into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle with the grated cheese.
Bake the loaf in the center of a moderately hot oven (375°F) for about 1 hour until it is well risen, firm to the touch and cooked through.
Turn out and cool on a cake rack.
