Carrots Au Gratin

Ingredients
  Margarine/Butter 5 Tablespoon, divided
  Cereal 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), crushed
  Chopped onion 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  All purpose flour 3 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Milk 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Shredded american cheese 4 Ounce (1 Cup)
  Sliced carrots 4 Cup (64 tbs), cooked and drained
  Parsley flakes 1 Tablespoon, dried
Directions

Melt 2 tablespoons margarine.
Combine with crushed Kellogg's Corn Flakes cereal; set aside.
Melt remaining 3 tablespoons margarine in large saucepan over low heat.
Add onion.
Cook, stirring frequently, until onion is softened, but not browned.
Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
Add milk gradually, stirring until smooth.
Increase heat to medium and cook until mixture is bubbly and thickened, stirring constantly.
Add cheese, stirring until melted.
Remove from heat.
Stir in carrots and parsley flakes.
Spoon mixture into greased 1 1/2-quart glass baking dish.
Sprinkle cereal mixture evenly over top.
Bake at 350°F about 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated and bubbly.
Remove from oven.
Let stand about 5 minutes before serving.
