Simple French Onion Soup
|Yellow onions||6 , sliced|
|Beef broth||2 Can (20 oz)|
|Water||15 Ounce (1 1/2 Soup Cans)|
|Sherry||5 Ounce (1/2 Soup Can)|
|Toasted french bread slice||6 (About An Inch Thick)|
|Grated cheese||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) (Parmesan Or Gruyere)|
In a skillet, melt butter and saute onions until lightly browned.
Pour them into the crock cooker along with the remaining ingredients.
Cook on Low for 4 to 6 hours.
At serving time, spoon soup into heat-proof cups or ramekins and top with toasted bread.
Sprinkle with cheese.
If convenient, place cups under a broiler until the cheese bubbles.
