French Fried Potatoes
|Salad oil||2 Cup (32 tbs) (for deep frying)|
1. In 3- to 4-quart saucepan over medium heat, heat 2 inches salad oil to 370°F. on deep-fat thermometer (or heat oil in deep-fat fryer set at 370°F.).
2. Meanwhile, peel potatoes; cut potatoes into 1/4-inch slices; cut slices into 1/4 inch lengthwise strips (or use crinkle cutter to cut strips).
3. Fry potatoes in hot oil, about one-fourth at a time, until golden brown. With slotted spoon, remove potatoes to paper towels to drain; keep warm. Repeat with remaining potatoes. Sprinkle lightly with salt to taste
