Baked Corn Au Gratin
|Ears of corn||6 , drained|
|Onion||1 Small, finely chopped|
|Green pepper||To Taste, finely chopped|
|All purpose flour||3 Tablespoon|
|Milk||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Shredded american cheese/Shredded mild cheddar cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , well beaten|
|Crushed cornflakes/Crumb butter topping||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
If fresh corn is used, cut kernels from cob.
In a saucepan, saute onion and green pepper in butter until tender; stir in flour; add milk and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and smooth.
Remove from heat, stir in the cheese, salt, pepper, sugar, corn, and then the eggs.
Turn into a greased casserole and top with crushed cornflakes or Crumb-Butter Topping.
Set in a shallow pan of hot water and bake in a 350° oven about 45 minutes.
