Beef Bourguignon

Ingredients
  Cooking oil 15
  Stewing steak 1 Kilogram, cubed
  Streaky bacon 100 Gram, chopped
  Flour 30 Milliliter
  Red wine 300 Milliliter
  Brandy 30 Milliliter
  Stock 150 Milliliter
  Thyme 1 Pinch
  Bay leaf 1
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), crushed
  Whole shallots/Tiny onions 12
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the beef and bacon until lightly browned.
Add the flour and gently stir in the wine and brandy.
Add the remaining ingredients and season well.
Bring to the boil and transfer to Slow cooker.
Cook for the recommended time.
Remove bay leaf before serving.
