Shred lettuce into a saucepan, add peas and onion flakes and 3-4 tablespoons water (just enough to moisten the lettuce provides the extra moisture).
Cover pan and cook until peas are done, about 15 minutes.
Add sweetener and butter flavoring.
Salt and pepper at the table.
This may also be baked in a casserole as part of an oven meal.
Allow 45 minutes at 325° F.
