Beef Ragout

Ingredients
  Round steak 3⁄4 Pound, cubed
  Oil 1 Tablespoon
  Mushrooms 1 Can (10 oz)
  Red wine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Beef bouillon cube 1
  Boiling water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Onions 2 Medium, sliced
  Carrots 2 Cup (32 tbs), cut into strips
  Celery 2 Cup (32 tbs), sliced
  Flour 2 Tablespoon
  Water 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Trim any fat from meat, and brown in hot oil.
Add mushrooms, wine and bouillon cube dissolved in boiling water.
Simmer, covered, for 45 minutes.
Add vegetables and simmer until tender, about 30 minutes longer.
Blend flour into cold water and stir into stew until it comes to a boil and thickens.
