Green beans au gratin is a totally vegetarian au gratin prepared with cooked green beans and cheese. Moistened with milk and spiced with pimientos and paprika, this green beans au gratin is a cooked recipe rather than an oven baked one.
Chopped green pepper
1 Cup (16 tbs)
1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
1 , chopped
Grated american cheese
1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Cooked green beans
2 Cup (32 tbs) (Hot)
Cook onion and green pepper in hot fat until onion is golden.
Add flour and seasonings; blend.
Gradually add milk and cooking liquid from beans.
Cook over low heat until thick, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Add pimiento and cheese; stir until cheese melts.
Pour over beans.
