|Chopped mushrooms||1 Can (10 oz), drained|
|Chopped onion||1 Tablespoon|
|Vegetable shortening||1 Tablespoon|
|Soft bread crumbs||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Parsley flakes||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Dried thyme||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Beef round steak||2 1⁄4 Pound|
|Vegetable shortening||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Condensed golden mushroom soup||1 Can (10 oz)|
|Red wine/Water||2 Tablespoon|
Advance preparation: Brown mushrooms and onion in the 1 tablespoon hot vegetable shortening and the butter.
In bowl, combine crumbs, parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper; add mushroom mixture.
Cut meat in 6 pieces.
Divide stuffing mixture among pieces of meat.
Wrap meat around stuffing, forming a roll; secure with wooden toothpick.
Brown meat rolls on all sides in the remaining hot vegetable shortening.
Combine soup and wine.
Place meat rolls in 1 1/2 quart casserole; pour on sauce.
Cover and chill.
