Classic Pommes Anna
|Melted butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Grated onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|White pepper||To Taste|
Peel potatoes; cut into paper-thin slices.
Brush bottom and sides of 6 1/2 x 3 inch souffle dish generously with butter.
Arrange potatoes, overlapping slices, around sides of souffle dish to form firm wall; cover bottom of dish with overlapping layer of potatoes.
Brush lightly with butter; sprinkle lightly with onion, salt, and pepper.
Repeat layers until all ingredients are used; cover lightly with foil.
Bake in preheated 400°F oven 30 minutes; remove foil.
Bake 30 minutes or until top is well browned; unmold on heated serving platter.
