Giada In Paradise

 

Giada in Paradise is a special two part show hosted by the well known Italian Chef and TV presenter Giada De Laurentiis . The show features some of her favorite vacation foods. It debuted in 2002 with the first episode being filmed at the Greek island Santorini. The second episode highlighted the culture and food of Capri, Italy.

 

The series had been aired on Food Network but is no longer active. It is currently scheduled for a re-run on the Cooking Channel.

 

Format of Giada in Paradise

The show features the host visiting the destination with the intention of exploring the food and local culture. The show is a documentary with descriptions and narrations by the host being included within it. Various local recipes feature in each of the episodes as well with Giada cooking the local fare on the sets.

 

Noteworthy Episodes of Giada in Paradise Show

The series was a special program consisting of only two episodes, each memorable in its own way.

  • Santorini- The beaches and scenic beauty of the Greek island form the background of the episode while Giada whips up a few dishes belonging to the Mediterranean cuisine. The stuffed Zucchini leaves, Shrimp Saganaki along with the traditional dessert of Baklava is cooked by the host who explains about the interesting culture of the islands.
  • Capri- The host takes a vacation to the most famous island of Italy and takes her viewers on a journey through the mountainous regions as well as the spectacular sea side of the tiny island. She cooks a few of her favorite Italian delicacies too which include the Eggplant Parmigiana and Lemon Profiteroles.
