|Dill||1 Teaspoon, chopped fine|
|White wine||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Bay leaf||1 , crushed|
|Thin lemon slices||8|
Wash shad roe in softly running cold water.
Lay roe in buttered baking dish.
Dot with butter.
Sprinkle with freshly ground pepper and dill.
Pour in white wine.
Add bay leaf.
Bake in preheated, hot (4500) oven 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, fry bacon over low heat until crisp.
When roe is cooked, transfer to hot platter.
Pour wine over the roe and top with crumbled bacon.
