This is a surprisingly simple recipe for Broiled Mackerel with Onion Slices - unusually rich and delicious with flavors most of us like to savor. This Broiled Mackerel with Onion Slices is great accompaniment to meal or to serve for special occasions.
Ingredients
  Mackerel 4 Pound
  Onions 3
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
Directions

GETTING READY
1) Get the mackerel cleaned and without slitting
2) Rub the mackerel insides with salt
3) Using a sharp knife, slit the fish on each side

MAKING
4) Into each slit, pack a slice of onion and dot with butter on the top side
5) Push the onion ring well inside the slit
6) In a preheated broiling compartment, place the fish
7) Broil for 3 minutes
8) Turn and insert the onion slices and dots of butter
9) Broil for an additional 6 minutes till the fish flakes off, when tested with a fork

SERVING
10) Serve the fish hot with a salad
