Steamed Fish Steaks
|Halibut steaks/Other fish steaks||2 Large (Or 4 Small Fresh / Frozen)|
|Green onions||4 , bias sliced into 1 inch lengths|
|Soy sauce||3 Tablespoon|
|Dry sherry||2 Tablespoon|
|Grated ginger root||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Thaw fish, if frozen.
Soak dried mushrooms in warm water for 30 minutes; squeeze to drain well.
Combine green onions, soy sauce, sherry, and gingerroot.
Over high heat, bring water for steaming to boiling.
Arrange fish steaks in heat-proof pan or dish that is at least 1 inch smaller than steamer rack.
Do not overlap fish.
Pour green onion mixture over fish steaks.
Top fish steaks with dried mushrooms.
Place uncovered pan or dish on steamer rack over boiling water.
Cover and steam fish for 20 to 25 minutes or till fish flakes easily when tested with fork; drain.
