Ingredients
  Yellow onions 3 , peeled and sliced
  Peanut oil 2 Tablespoon
  White vinegar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cardamom 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Turmeric 2 Teaspoon
  Chili powder 2 Teaspoon
  Cumin 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Garlic 3 Clove (15 gm), crushed
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Canned tomato paste 1 Ounce (1 Can)
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Whitefish 2 Pound
Directions

Saute the onions in the oil until clear.
Set aside.
Prepare the sauce by simmering all the ingredients for 20 minutes.
Place the fish in a greased baking dish.
Cover first with the sauteed onions and then with the sauce.
Bake at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
You might wish to serve this with steamed wheat tortillas, something that is very close to a bread common in many countries in Africa.
