Tutti Frutti Filling
|Raisins||1⁄4 Pound (Seeded Or Seedless)|
|Walnuts||1 Tablespoon, chopped|
|Maraschino cherries||1⁄4 Pound|
|Maple sugar||1⁄4 Pound|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1.Put raisins and figs in colander over a kettle of hot water and allow them to steam for about one hour.
2.Then add dates, which have been pitted, and steam for fifteen minutes longer.
3.Remove from steamer, add cherries, and chop the fruit fine.
4.Bring the maple sugar and water to a boil and pour it over the fruit.
6.When cool, spread between layers and on top of the cake and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
7.Use in cakes
