This fruit filled braid filling is prepared with cooked prunes, tart apples, brown sugar, vinegar, cinnamon and salt. Combined together, the fruit filled braid filling is boiled till thick and used as desired.

Mix 2/3 cups chopped cooked prunes, 1 1/3 cups chopped peeled tart apples, 2/3 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup water, 1 tablespoon vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon salt together.
Boil gently until thick, about 8 minutes.
