Old Fashioned Tart Filling
|Pitted dates/Prunes||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs), soaked and chopped|
|Walnuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), coarsely chopped|
|Unsweetened orange juice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Powdered fruit rind||3 Tablespoon|
Combine fruit, nuts and juice.
Sprinkle with Rind.
Roll pastry 1/8 inch thick.
Cut into rounds 3 1/2 inches in diameter, 3 1/2-inch squares, or triangles with base of 3 1/4 inches.
Put 1 teaspoon of filling on each.
Moisten edges and press together.
Bake at 450Â° F. for 15 minutes.
