|Ground beef||1⁄2 Pound|
|Onion||1 Small, chopped|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Cracked grain||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
Lightly brown the ground beef in a large skillet.
Drain off excess liquid.
Add the onion and garlic, and saute.
Add grain, and cook until lightly brown.
Add 2 cups of the water, cover skillet, and simmer for 10 minutes.
Check moisture content, adding remaining 1 cup water if necessary.
Ten minutes before grain is tender, add carrot.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Mixture should be thick.
Baking: Bake in a 425°F.
Oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
