|Sugar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Cornstarch||1 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Milk||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Egg yolks||2 , beaten|
|Butter||1 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Vanilla||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in saucepan.
Gradually stir in milk.
Bring to a boil quickly, stirring constantly.
Turn down heat and boil, stirring, 1 minute.
Stir some of hot mixture gradually into egg yolks.
Return to saucepan and bring back to a boil, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla.
Cover with waxed paper and cool quickly, stirring occasionally.
