Drain cherries, reserving 1 1/3 cups liquid.
Set cherries aside.
Combine reserved cherry liquid, brandy, and cornstarch in a small saucepan, stirring until smooth.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens.
Stir in cherries; cool to room temperature.
