Ingredients
  Pitted dates 8 Ounce, coarsely chopped (1 Package)
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Lemon juice 2 Tablespoon
  Minced pecans/Walnuts / blanched almonds 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Directions

Simmer dates, water, sugar, and lemon juice, uncovered, about 15 minutes, stirring now and then, until thick.
Cool, mix in nuts, and use as a spread for tea sandwiches.
