Easy Vanilla Cream Filling

Ingredients
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  All purpose flour 3 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Milk 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Eggs 2 , beaten
  Vanilla extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

In top part of double boiler, mix 1/4 cup sugar, the flour, and salt.
Add 1/2 cup milk; stir until smooth.
Pour in remaining 1 cup milk and cook over boiling water for 10 minutes, or until smooth and thickened, stirring constantly.
Mix remaining 1/4 cup sugar and the eggs.
Add hot mixture slowly, stirring constantly.
Put back in double boiler and cook for 5 minutes, or until very thick, stirring constantly.
Cool, and add vanilla.
Makes enough to fill four 8-inch or three 9-inch layers.
