Ham and Cheese Filled Cabbage
|Ham||2 Cup (32 tbs), precooked or chopped|
|Seasoned bread crumbs||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
|Butter/Margarine||1 Tablespoon, melted|
|American cheese||1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs), grated|
|Dry mustard||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Hot pepper sauce||1 Dash|
Remove and save outer leaves of cabbage head.
Cut out the stalk and make a cavity large enough to hold the meat and cheese filling, without cutting through the top.
Mix the remaining ingredients in a large bowl.
Loosely pack the meat and cheese mixture in the cabbage.
Some filling may be left over.
Cover with a moist cabbage leaf.
Place stuffed cabbage on a small trivet in a large mixing bowl.
Insert temperature probe in center of the filling.
Cover with plastic wrap.
Place in the oven and connect the temperature probe.
PROGRAM TO MICROWAVE on HIGH until the internal temperature reaches 110°, and'then on '6' until 140°.
Remove top cabbage leaf.
Slice and serve.
