Vanilla Cream Filling
|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Milk||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Egg yolks||2 , beaten|
In 4-cup measure or small mixing bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Gradually stir in milk.
Microwave at High 4 to 7 minutes, or until very thick, stirring after 2 minutes, then every minute.
Mix a little hot mixture into egg yolks.
Blend into remaining milk mixture.
Microwave at 50% (Medium) 1 minute.
Stir in butter until smooth.
Cover; cool slightly.
Stir in vanilla.
