Sweet Pickled Figs

Ingredients
  Ripe figs 7 Pound (Firm Ones)
  Sugar 5 Pound
  Vinegar 1 Pint (Good Sour Ones)
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Whole cloves 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Cinnamon stick 1
Directions

Wash figs.
Put spices, sugar, water, and vinegar in pot.
Let boil.
Drop figs into boiling syrup.
Bring to rolling boil.
Cut heat off.
Cover and let stand overnight.
Repeat 3 times.
Can last time.
Use slotted spoon to remove from syrup.
Reduce sugar one po
