Gingered Figs

Gingered Figs is a delicious dessert recipe that you would love to prepare on a get together. Try this Gingered Figs; I am sure you will have a huge fan following for this!
Ingredients
  Dried figs 1 Pound
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Lemons 2
  Ginger root piece 1 Large
  Sugar To Taste
  Cream 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

1. Wash the figs and clip off the stems. Add cold water to cover, two tablespoons lemon juice and one tablespoon very thinly sliced lemon rind.
2. Add the ginger root and bring mixture to a boil. Boil until the figs are puffed and soft, or twenty to thirty minutes. Drain, reserving the liquid. Place the figs in a serving dish.
3. Measure the liquid and return it to the saucepan. Add half as much sugar as liquid and simmer until syrupy. Add one tablespoon lemon juice and four slices of lemon.
4. Pour the syrup over the figs, chill
