Caramel Nut Crunch
|Packed brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dark corn syrup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Toasted oat cereal||6 Cup (96 tbs)|
|Pecan halves||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dry roasted peanuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Slivered almonds||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Combine sugar, syrup, butter and salt in 2-quart mix-and-pour bowl.
Microwave on HIGH, uncovered, 3-4 minutes, or until mixture boils, stirring once.
Stir well, then microwave on HIGH for 1-1/2 minutes longer.
Combine cereal and nuts in large buttered microwave-safe bowl; pour hot mixture over all and mix until evenly coated.
Microwave on HIGH for 6-8 minutes, or until cereal is toasted, stirring thoroughly every 2 minutes.
Spoon onto buttered foil.
Cool 5-7 minutes, or until it starts to set.
Break into pieces; cool completely.
Store in covered container.
